Enzyme production

Industrial enzymes are widely used inputs in the food, beverage, textile, detergent and feed sectors. In production processes run with bacterial, yeast and fungal cultures, yield depends on strain and medium properties. It also depends on managing oxygen transfer, feeding, pH, temperature, induction and harvest timing together.
Application-specific process requirements
Oxygen requirement
In aerobic processes the oxygen requirement is met by air flow and agitation and, where needed, by vessel pressure and oxygen enrichment; the limits of these variables are evaluated together.
Fed-batch operation
In fed-batch operation the feed profile is defined with regard to substrate inhibition, catabolite repression, overflow metabolism and oxygen demand. Profiles are entered on the control unit and applied with peristaltic pumps.
Harvest and primary separation interface
Transfer interfaces suited to harvest and primary separation equipment; the scope of subsequent purification steps is defined separately in the project.
