The balance between oxygen transfer rate (OTR = kLa·(C* − C)) and oxygen uptake rate (OUR) is calculated with a simplified model for three scenarios. The model is for educational use and cannot replace a design calculation.

The organism, target volume and any measured OUR or kLa values are sufficient to compare the simulated scenario with an existing process.
